Located just minutes from Mackay's CBD and airport, our welcoming facility features 16 hard courts (10 under lights), four mini courts, modern amenities, spacious shaded viewing areas, and a fully equipped clubhouse and canteen. Our central location makes Pioneer Tennis an ideal venue for local programs, regional events and major tournaments.

More Than a Tennis Club

Formerly known as the Mackay & District Tennis Association, Pioneer Tennis has evolved into much more than a traditional tennis club. While we remain proud of our strong junior foundation, today we offer opportunities for players of every age, ability and ambition.

From Hot Shots and junior coaching to adult coaching, fixtures, social tennis, squads, tournaments and performance pathways, our goal is simple—to help every player enjoy the game, improve their skills and feel part of our tennis community.

With more than 1,000 members each year, Pioneer Tennis is one of Queensland's largest and most active affiliated tennis clubs.

Our success is driven by passionate coaches, dedicated volunteers, supportive families and strong partnerships throughout the Mackay region. Through our network of local schools and community organisations, we introduce thousands of children to tennis each year, creating opportunities for lifelong participation in sport.
